Debuting at the Frankfurt Auto Show is a MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept which will act as a sort of vision for a new race car for MINI. From the outside, this MINI GP Concept is one of the gnarliest, coolest MINI racers we’ve ever seen. The massive wing, fender flares that also double as aerodynamics and lower front splitter with air intakes, show that this MINI means business on the track. It uses 19-inch alloy wheels, while the LED rear lights display half of the Union Jack, a nod to the car’s British origins.

Inside, the concept has a roll cage and pair of low-mounted bucket seats. Gearshifts are by paddles on the steering wheel. With its roll cage, fire extinguisher and racing seats show that this is a proper race car.

The concept also uses lightweight materials including carbon fibre, which MINI said optimizes the power-to-weight ratio. However, no figures are provided.

MINI said it could “not confirm whether a series-production model of the GP will be launched in the future. This concept is a design study.”

Hi guys. We are pleased to announce that we raised a whopping €2,230 for the Cork Association for Autism as a result of our event , Minis on the Wild Atlantic Way 2015. We handed over the cheque this evening to Marion Courtney from the charity in Actons Hotel in Kinsale, the starting point for our adventure! Well done to all who donated to generously to the cause, through sponsorship cards, the silent auction and raffle. And massive thanks to those who helped organise the event – you all know who you are ! A fantastic result and we will certainly be doing more with the Cork Association for Autism later on this year. Thanks again guys,
Sarah x

To promote the Annual Soap Box Race as part of the Clones Canal Festival 2014, some of the organizers made a fantastic re-make of The Italian Job !!!
I must say it is very very well done, all the key elements are in it including driving on the footpaths, the church scene, the Mini sales scene where they ‘hid’ and the water scene etc. but also little tiny parts of the original that made it so good and fans like us love.
Please check out there event here http://www.clonescanalfestival.com/Soapbox.html
