Hi Andrew,

Irlmin on here, has a MINI & Mini specialist and supplies any parts you might need, maybe send him a pm with what you need.

Hi everyone! My name is DJ and I have a 2008 CooperD. It's mostly my girlfriend that drives it because i have a passat myself for work and I have a few civics for messing about in but I must admit the MINI is the most fun I've had in a diesel car by far!

Its recently become a nightmare tho with problems with the oil pump, DPF and injectors. I love the car and so does my girlfriend so hopefully you guys here will be able to point me in the right direction with getting it sorted and back to full health again :) The car is currently parked up due to DPF problem, I'm in Kerry and nobody around my way can seem to get to the bottom of it, so if you guys have any ideas or know someone who knows their stuff with these engines please let me know
Anyway that's me and my story. This looks like a very good forum from the little Ive seen so far, I look forward to using it and getting to know you guys.

Hi ,
Give me a call on the 6th when we get back to work , I am sure We can sort your Mini , what mileage is on the engine ? most problems on this engine are caused by poor and infrequent servicing and the use of poor quality lubricants and filters , that said we would need to have a look at the car and a diagnostic session to determine the extent of the problem , DPF filters blocking can cause very 'strange' running issues as well . btw welcome to the Forum .

Thanks for your help, I sent you a pm with all the information of the problems and what we have done and tried so far. The car has 73000 miles and has a partial service history, all fluids and filters have been changer too within the last 200 miles as well as the other work done that I was on about in the pm. Thanks very much and il speak to you on the 6th :)

Welcome to the forum DJ :)
Ger at O'Leary's Garage is the best place to get your R56 sorted, they have the FULL MINI set up and know they're stuff.

Hey there DJ, sorry to hear about the issues with the D. Hopefully you can get sorted and join the club on a good run sometime. Kerry is always a favourite haunt!

Hey folks, the names Rob, based in Athlone. Been a fan of mini's for ages and the last 5 years I've been a bit obsessed with getting one. I'm getting really close to getting one so I figured I should probably find some people who could point me in the right direction (and who won't tell me I'm mental for wanting one :))

Welcome to the site Rob. As you will find out there are a fair few obsessive characters floating around the club, so you will fit in fine...

Hopefully see you soon on a run, either before or after you scratch that itch!

Hi everyone, I'm Ian and I'm based in Dublin. I've been in the car scene for a long time and have spent the last 7 years with the Subaru drivers club. I drove a 2003 impreza Sti which was the ultimate car for me... However this was my fun weekend car and with the current economic climate it just wasn't happening.. I thought about what I enjoyed most about my hobby and decided that I enjoyed the cleaning, polishing, waxing and general upkeep. And the reaction of people to how spotless and perfect the car looked.I felt that a mini could give me what I wanted while being economical. In the interim I have bought a Mini Cooper D clubman. I'm planing on switching to a cooper s clubby when I find an Irish car that I'm happy with but at the moment in enjoying the Dooper. Below is a pic of my old Impreza at its best. And a pic of my Clubby.

Keep calm and mini on.

Hi Ian

Welcome to the site mate, and good to meet you the other day!

Wow the Scooby looked a wee bit tasty, but you are right they eat fuel. The Dooper will be the exact opposite, and should be enough fun to keep you happy for a little while, unless you get the hankering for more power :)

I was looking for a Clubby S myself, and they are pretty had to find, unless you go to the UK. I will keep my eyes peeled anyway.

Cheers

Adrian

Hello Ian,

Was great to meet you on Sunday. Your Clubbie is lovely. Great colour, it shows the Clubman off lovely.

Knightfire Red is just beautiful, and given your hobby of keeping your cars spotless, it will be stunning.

Derek.
