MINI Coupe

Postby Masterbiker » Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:55 pm

I just had a test drive of the SD Coupe. It's love at first drive :D

I do want to have a drive of the petrol S before I put any money down on one though.

It's gorgeous isn't it? :)
I loved it too and would have one in my ideal garage of Mini's & MINI's ;)

There's a queue forming for one, I liked it but thought the visibility was a disadvantage & the cab is very plasticy after you move the seats forward, couldn't warm to the shape of fake seats, id have preferred just speakers if you know what mean!

In an ideal garage, mmm!!! Now I'm off to do the Lotto!! :)

I wonder how long it will be before there is a removable roof/CC version

Coupe is much nicer to look at in the metal. I don't think the pics do it complete justice.

Not sure I could live with it though, but the SD engine is amazing.

You could to worse Aiden!

Frank Keane's gave me the loan of their Coupe SD the other day.

It is immense! Will type up my full thoughts later, when I'm not popping in on my phone!

I saw my S, but not sure I could go back to her at this stage, even though I'm tempted :D

Drove the SD Coupe today, seemed quite noisy and not as quick as I thought it would be !

Petrol, ah, after running a V8, you should have an idea about how glad I might be to leave petrol behind for a while ;)

Thats interesting Aiden , I found SD noisy as well , decent torque though , dump the 'runflats' and it should be more civilised ride wise,( looking forward to driving one with a 'real' full fat petrol engine :) lol , I would like to have a go in a std D model as well just to compare the noise / vibration / harshness levels compared to the SD . but overall I like the Coupe and am looking forward to driving the Roadster in Feb as well .

The one I tried in Sligo, I'd swear it had a hole in the boot there was that much road noise - tried a Cooper in Athlone yesterday, and it was fine - now I'll be trying an SD in Athlone tomorrow and that will be interesting.....

Any idea why the SD would have more tractor characteristics than a standard D?? Is'n the SD engine the BMW one? Im so feckin outta touch !! :1icon_redface:
