Its about time they decided  , We popped into Paul Ricard in September and its an amazing area , very near the coast and the seaside town of Bandol . I would be happier if they had picked September but thats not to be . I am sure it will be a serious party anyway . must look at ferry deals accom etc , this will depend on numbers of course and duration of stay , I think most people will make this their annual holiday with 2 weeks away , Britanny ferries do a decent service from Cork to Roscoff every Saturday and returning from Roscoff weekly leaving Friday evenings . other options are Irish ferries Rosslare / Roscoff and Cherbourg and Celtic ferries Rosslare Cherbourg both with several sailings weekly . of course there is the other option of through UK to France . Accommodation should be no major problem in May as there are lots of options within 20 kms . remember its a long run down through France, its 1328 km from Roscoff to Paul Ricard .anyway if anyone is interested post here and we will set-up a separate area on the forum to discuss / plan / research etc .

Is there any panic to book tickets?

Its the same a usual the earlier you can book the better with the ferry companies price wise , but if we get a decent number travelling I will have a go at getting a 'deal' with the ferry companies , I also have some ideas on accommodation . I think if we get a certain number interested we can put a package together .

I'm excited that MINIUnited 2012 has been announced.
But disappointed, I won't be able to travel in May.

Just started to look at this myself - considering trying to take in the MotoGp race at Le Mans the following weekend but it might be too much of a stretch to do it all in one trip. Planning starts now though! :D

There were plenty tickets for sale at the gate at MU 2009 in Silverstone so should think it will be fine after Christmas.
By the way just so you know, €40 for the three days is outstanding value!!!
You should have a look at what was available for Free inside MU 2009 to get an idea. Drive your own MINI around the race circuit, go flat out with other MINI's on the track event, MINI Challenge Racing, MINI test drives etc etc etc :) :) :)

Don't mention the queue Ferg!!! We all had bought tickets beforehand but the queues were very long but it added to it all, seeing all the different cultures, faces and then in came the IRISH! Oh the memories!!
