Postby Sportspack-Mark » Mon Nov 19, 2012 11:30 pm

I had a bit of an epic road trip in May in the MINI,I thought I would share it with you guys it behaved perfectly with no glitches at all
Ok so from the beginning

It involved driving to Dublin from just south of Belfast. Ferry to Holyhead. Then a drive to Folkestone

Getting onto Euro Tunnel

Then from Castellane, I made it to THE south of france, I couldn't go any further!

Then along the coast to Monaco, they were getting all prepped for the F1 which was a shame, I wanted a picture of my car outside the casino

A few small vessels in the harbour

So before I left I had a message from Gerard asking if I wanted to put my car at their club tent, why not I thought. I had the best time with the crew, Chris, Sinead, Ger, Oliver and Julian!! Class craic and very welcoming to me!! Next time theres an MTI I'm there!!!

The event is called MINI United, its held every 2/3 years and is a 3 day festival with live music, events, and you can take your car around the circuit. MINI challenge racing is also on during the weekend. I saw Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Gossip, The Ting Tings and Martin Solveig at the concerts.

MINI always do something special for their fans, so on the Saturday we got the first glimpse of the new GP in the metal, the press release was later that evening

I also met Paddy Hopkirk and Rauno Aaltonen

Back up through France via Millau, our convoy group
