while looking for some bits in My garage at Home over the Weekend I found a 'Retrotrip' rally device , it's for measuring distance to 1/100th mile ( or km ) it's almost new and is complete with sensor and cable for a Mini . I will take € 200 for it complete , (last one on e-bay made € 190stg with NO sensor / cable ) I can send pics if necessary .or may post pics here later .
