EML light

Hi Guys,

The EML light came on in my car about two weeks ago. Its starting loosing power (while I was on a motorway, at night!!). I managed to make it home but when I turned off the engine and turned it back on, the light went off and power was back.
It happened once again while driving and then again today while I was trying to switch the engine on.

Anyone any clues to what it could be?

It could be one of several things , best is to plug it into the diagnostic gear and even if the light is off at the time it will have 'held' the fault codes and it will be possible to see what the problem is from there , did this happen without warning at a constant speed or was it during acceleration / deceleration did it 'cut-out' completly or just misfire did you have to coast to the roadside and re-start or were you able to continue at redused speed sorry for the questions but as I said its difficult to pin-point the problem from a distance .

Hi Ger,

It happened without warning. I was accelerating at the time and the accelerator got heavy. And the car slowed down. I still had a very small amount of power so I was able to drive on. The electrics didnt go. All lights were still working. The steering felt slightly heavy also.

Although the third time it happened, the car just wouldnt start?
