course of action for minor rust???!

Postby flickr » Thu Oct 23, 2008 12:47 pm

hi all, just new to the site and to mini ownership actually!! can barely tear myself away from driving since i've owned it-addiction springs to mind-....
so as far as the rust goes, there are spots around the doors and some paint bubbling and also some spots on the crome work. is it a big job to get this sorted(expensive)? whats the best course of action?

Depends where the rust is and what you are wanting finish wise afterwards.
Also it WILL come back if you go the cheap route.

If there is no holes, then you are correct and prepared correctly, it will be fine.

For the chrome work, if you get some WD40 and wipe it with a cloth the rust should just come off. Worked well for me!
