Xenons bulb problem

Postby iwanagofast » Mon Mar 09, 2009 3:53 am

The day before I left one of the xeons stopped working, do I have to get a replacement off mini or can I get one in the local motor factors?

Rob , You need to check the problem out 1st , is it a bulb or other problem , just swap bulbs to check , I would say it will be bulb , expensive from MINI but there are alternatives

They do blow, but they last a lot longer than ordinary bulbs. The main selling point about Xenons is that the light they emit is closer to daylight than standard halogen bulbs.

Swap the bulb Rob (With the ignition off, there's 25000 volts in the Xenon circuit), and take it from there.

Hey
The bulb is intact but the kind of nipple thing at the top has snapped off and the bulb itself looks kind of smokey.I tried them in my car and the broken one is just as bright as the other. Is there any harm in using the broken one, if it still actually works ?
Thanks in advance.

I think its lifespan will be reduced if its damaged , at this time of year especially I would replace as you may get bulb failure some night a long way from home and as you know its dodgy enough on our flooded roads without having a headlamp fail , replace it !!

Post deleted and user banned. If you want to advertise, do so properly, don't pretend to be a customer who just happpens to rant and rave about a product and post links to the site selling them as your only post.
