i have a rattle!

so i have a rattle. or is it more a knocking noise. it only emerged recently and only happens when the car is in neutral and my foot is off the clutch, for example in traffic. sometimes more noticable when the car is cold. any ideas??? personally i think its an engine mount but any ideas are welcome.

Could be an exhaust mount or a heat-shield maybe?
If it was an engine mount you would hear a knocking sound when driving i.e. when accelerating and lifting off again, I'd be surprised if it would happen at idle.
Check all the exhaust clamps are tight when cold if you can, best done if you can get the car on ramps or stands.
