Just wondering can a MINI jump start another car, and vice versa? Pro's and Con's appreciated

Yup! MINI has no problem jump starting other cars and being jump started. Always have the engine running in the car doing the jumping, and make sure you dont cross the wires.

As Owen has said it can be done BUT make sure there are no 'sparks' ie crossed leads or you will 'spike' the ECU and it will get expensive , the leads We use have a 'surge' protector built in to prevent any problems , most diy leads will require that there is some power in the 'flat' battery , they are just not heavy duty enough to start directly, it is always better in that you leave your car run for a few minutes after connecting the leads to get some charge back into the 'flat' battery from your alternator before you try to start the car .

Ah brill, not that i'd be doing it to be honest.... Just curious! ;) Thanks. We're using the work car to jump others, must mention about the surge protection and the 'flat battery'.

Hi all, just going slightly of track here i jumped my girlfriends car from my 04 Chili S during the cold spell last week, as i was taking the lead off the positive terminal the clip down cover that fits over the terminal sprung off and ended down at the bottom of the engine some where, i could see the damn thing but couldnt reach it, are these easy to come by??? As i hate having bits missing....
