What type of car do you have, and what size are your wheels?

If it's your car Bawnee - or any newer model MINI, the advice from Tony Franks who's an ex JCW engineer is to have the fronts at 30psi (Because of the weight of the engine), and the rears at 24.

Hey Owen, just to double check - do those pressures apply to 2002 MINI Cooper petrol, 175/65/R15?
The 24psi is surprising! Is that a recommended pressure for best handling on track/good surfaces? Just with the way the roads are like... would it be a bit low for everyday use?
What's the manual say? 32/32?

The manual is written by health and safety nazis. The MINI has a heavier front end than the rear. The pressures I quoted are ideal for 17/18 inch cars. If yours is running 15s, because of the higher profile I'd keep the rears to 26/27. I know it sounds strange, but the cars do handle a lot better on those pressures - and Tony Franks is the guy who builds MINI race cars, he knows a thing or two.

Cheers boss. Not doubting the source or the supplier of the info - just wanted confirmation of its application! The back can twitch out at higher pressure alright..
If only our roads were as pothole-free as a track!

I'm running 16s and go for 29.5 on the front and 26.5 on the rear. Cold probably handle a little more on the rear to reduce understeer and give a little lift-off :) Non-runflats all round too.

Can't beat a little bit of lift of oversteer :) Had a Fiat Bravo on Nankang Teflons that would give a little four wheel drift if you pushed it...
