Hi Everyone!
My mini cooper ( vintage) has just failed the NCT. No major things this time ( woohoo!) but really annoying little things that I cant get a solution for!
They've cited:
Rear Lamps & Registration Lamps as :Incorrect/different
Stop Lamps: Wrong
The stop lamps according to my manual and current ones on car are white. The plastic cover however is also white. I think it's standard on modern cars to have red plastic. The last time i went if for NCT my Dad painted the bulbs red and it passed. I've been to several garages, Motor factors and halfords and they say they aren't made in red. I've bought white ones and was going to get red glass paint in a craft shop. Sounds a little sketchy though.
The code for bulbs is 380 & 12V 21/5w. If I fail again on this it'll have to go for full retest again. Any clues? This must happen loads of mini drivers! HELP!!!
Thanks!
Sarah

I know I passed the MOT up here once with red plastic wrappers from Quality Street toffees wrapped round the bulbs......
ol: It did the job until the correct bulbs arrived but obviously not a long term solution!
