Goes my engine...

This is a normal sound for the R50 engine right guys? Does it at idle and while driving.

Is it a timebomb waiting to go off :)

Depends of course how loud the 'tick' 'tick' 'tick' is , if it is very light noise then yes its only the injectors you are hearing and no problem ,any more you will have the BIG bang no doubt about it lol  :D

That gave me some very nasty flashbacks.... nasty...

Mir's car is an R50 and I can't say I notice much beyond a very very light ticking. So far so good, at 70k miles anyway. Except when the engine is cold it's a bit harsher alright.
Try listening to a 00ish Volvo petrol 1.8 (Mitsubishi GDI engine) - tappety and clattery as any tdi.

I'm quite happy with the low level of chain noise off the R50 engines - nearly all the new Opels sound worse than the old 3 cylinder 1.0 Corsas... sewing-machine-tastic
