Goes my engine...

This is a normal sound for the R50 engine right guys? Does it at idle and while driving.

Is it a timebomb waiting to go off

Depends of course how loud the 'tick' 'tick' 'tick' is , if it is very light noise then yes its only the injectors you are hearing and no problem ,any more you will have the BIG bang no doubt about it

Mir's car is an R50 and I can't say I notice much beyond a very very light ticking. So far so good, at 70k miles anyway. Except when the engine is cold it's a bit harsher alright.
Try listening to a 00ish Volvo petrol 1.8 (Mitsubishi GDI engine) - tappety and clattery as any tdi.

I'm quite happy with the low level of chain noise off the R50 engines - nearly all the new Opels sound worse than the old 3 cylinder 1.0 Corsas... sewing-machine-tastic
