Winter tyres/wheels

Warning - this post contains references to Corollas. May cause sleepyness and slow driving....

If you were to kit out a MINI with a set of winter tyres on steel wheels:
Would a set of steel wheels from a corolla fit on an R50? PCD is right I think 4x100. 15" should clear the brakes same as the normal MINI alloys, but would they fit on the hubs? would the large hole in the middle be too big or too small? Would offset be an issue?

Not a major consideration yet, but if we keep having these winters then it might be no harm having a set hanging around?
