It's a really bad idea. Especially with long term body repairs in time. When your Mini rusts, which it will, you'll have 10 times the work to sort it. The only way to de-seam a Mini properly, is to cut off an inch of seam every second inch, weld up the cut off bits, then cut off the remaining seams. Ferg's right in that it'll have to be either lead loaded, or done with very very very neat welding, ground down, and skimmed over with filler.
Personally, I think it looks well, but it'll lay the foundation for nightmares in a year or so when you go to do touch-ups.
