Hello everyone

I am currently restoring a 1984 mini mayfair i stripped the car back to the shell have some panels to replace then getting car blasted and resprayed .my problem is what to do with the engine and gearbox the car was driving quite well before i started restoration work but was very very hard to start and quite smokey but drive quite well .I am spending a lot of money on this car and dont want to neglect the most important part of the rebuild So i would like to get the engine and gearbox rebuilt this is not something that i would take on myself so dose anyone know somebody that has experience and would be interested in rebuilding it for me i live in co monaghan but would not mind travelling

Fair play to you for rebuilding your Classic, sounds like a great project.
You need someone who understands Mini's and I would go no further than O'Leary's Garage in Ballincollig Co.Cork.
They are Mini & MINI Specialists and know their stuff.
Many of their customers drive down from Dublin and further afield to just get their Mini or MINI serviced so I would heartily recommend them.

I agree with MiniMPi. I moved to Mallow and work in Limerick and still make the drive to O'Leary's.
