Hello,
Picked up my 2008 Cooper S last weekend and looking to get my hands dirty this coming weekend.
I noticed that the air filter and spark plugs hadn't been changed in a few years by the main dealer, so I am going to do them anyway for preventative maintenance.
Should I be opting for one spark plug over the other? Was looking at NGK Iridium ones?
I picked up a 14mm thin walled 12 point spark plug socket and aware of being very careful not to cross thread. The Haynes workshop manual is a little vague, so any other tips?
Thanks,
Marcus

Hi,
Just a follow-up question regarding the spark plugs - is gapping still necessary?
Do new plugs come with the correct gap or is it better to always double check this?
Thanks,
Marcus

All plugs pre gapped BUT always check visually before you install ,
