Ya could just switch over your own insurance for the day... and you would be going at a very slow pace.... All that said I think there was only 250 or so made so I'd be weary even standing next ta it!!!

I never looked at it like that , Minis were made to be driven , its like My 1965 Cooper S , it was bought new by a guy in Limerick in March 65 and later that month he did the 65 Circuit of Ireland with it and used it for rallying for many more years , I got it in 1990 or thereabouts and used it on the retro Circuit of Ireland and several national championship navigation rally's , people said I was daft to use what was a valuable mini for very tough events BUT that is what it was bought for originally in 1965 to be a Rally car , I would love to get it restored again sometime and do some more retro rally's in it .

I guess you're right G....cars are made to be driven...not just to be looked at!! Still...you're crazy to let me behind the wheel of something so priceless...not necessarily in monetary terms...but you know what I mean!

So you still have the 1965 Cooper S Ger?? I saw something similar in Mini Mag a few months ago, Cooper S back in Mondelo Park after a been done up, I can't remember the guys name who had the car it was dove grey and it looked the business.
EDIT - I have done some digging into what I said above there because I am bored at work, Mini Mag Oct07, The owner is Mike Dennehy, I even have a pick of the car in question

Niall drove it, I think. I was the zombie-like passenger on the first day. It is a cracking ride.
