'Speed Racer' is coming to the screens this year. For those too young, or too old to remember Speed Racer, it was a Japanese cartoon about a boy who raced his Mach 5 race car and all the characters 'talkedreallyreallyfastwithoutevertakingthetimetobreathebetweenwords'. The Wachowski Brothers (Or One bro, and his newly transvestite sister) who directed the Matrix trilogy are at the helm of this one, and the trailers are incredible, they're using a new filming technique where the whole movie is over-exposed in cartoon colour, and everything on the screen is in focus at the same time, just like a cartoon.

I don't expect the movie to be 10/10, so it won't be for everyone, but it should be good for the eye candy, and to see the cartoon brought to life. So, anyone up for it?

I can see it now:

A cloud of dark smoke and the spot-lit facade of the Mahon Point theater. The cloud parts, a white car emerges from the gloom, emblazoned with a strangely cursive red M. Out steps a passing strange man in tight white pants, a blue jumper, a white helmet.... OMG it's Alvin in go-go boots.
