It's in the Pipeline Darragh me 'ol chum, and yes, you'll be on the invite list! I couldn't bear not to bring you, I'd be hearing about it for months! :-) Hell, if you're a member, you'll be automatically entered anyway bypassing the invitation requirement.

It'd be a pleasure to see you work your magic with your GP on the track.

Mondello do VIP track days, It's the same as a normal track day but once you get the numbers they will only let invites in so no scrotes and I think they even throw in a bit of grub :D

Hi Darragh,

I looked into this a few years ago, tried to get some participants from Mini2.

I think the cost was €4000 plus VAT. I couldn't get enough interest so I let it go.

I'm a member of the VIP track day club, the last day we had was great, very few cars and lots of track time.

I'm sure we'll do it as a club, but I can't see it happening until next year. You wouldn't believe the number of events we've already scheduled.

You should have seen the porches tearing around the track friday afternoon all I can say is that a Mini can handle the track better than a Carrera GT whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

All depends on who is behind the wheel! A G.T. in the right hands and nothing would pass it!!!!!!!!!!

As I said, in the right hands anything is rapid. Take Billy Colman from Millstreet the man was taken sec. off the headliners of the West Cork rally in there W.R.C. cars and he was in a 40 y.o Alpine 1300cc and he was only doing 00 (sweaping). The marshell's had to ask him if he would slow down as he was imbarrising the "big boys". As it happens the alpine is owned by a friend of ours who will be joining the club soon and is a ex-works car that has won the Monty Carlo Rally (I think).

Have you seen Billys son Robert behind a GT? He is an ex karter and can well drive the car... Last friday was damp conditions and pugeot 205's were better around the track... just proves that you dont have to drive a big expensive car to be able to drive it...

Robert is nothing like his Dad when it come to driving. Plus if you take any car with that many horses in the back wheels on a wet road, it would only be a fool that would give it everything the car has got, they would'ent last 1 lap. But I agree with you, you don't have to drive the big expensive car. I saw mk 2 Golf's going around the "Ring" and nothing could catch them.

When I say damp I dont mean sopping wet only 10% wet but I know nothing can compare to Billy. you could throw him into a rust bucket and he would still set the fastest time its all about smoothness and controlability...mmmmmmmmm tracckkkkkkk day trrrrrracccckkkkkkkk dayyyyyyyyyyyyy

A track day would great, but like Timmy said we'll need to get bigger as a club before we can afford it.
I suppose we'd need around 40-50 cars to keep costs realistic. We could definately get 25-30 cars right now so hopefully early next year we could consider booking it???
This trend will be the best way of gauging interest.

Paulie.
