Maybe we could organise a run up this end of the country to tie in with mosney or trim shows in 09. I went to both shows this year and thought their was a very poor turn out of minis and no MINIS. No mini clubs attended so it could be good for our club... we could organise a weekend event? overnight fri, run on sat, show on sunday?? I know its a year away but thought id get in early to tie in with other mcoi events. :clock:

would b nice!

Would be cool to have our own spot with the mcoi banners.

Surely Mosney is a Classic car event? I'm all for MINI and Mini to be treated equally within the "Mini Community" but I feel that taking a bunch of "nearly new" cars to a Classic car show is a bit "wrong" - Up here we have problems with the AOVC and they won't even allow cars younger than 1984 into some events so quite a lot of Minis can't even go to them. :(

Of course Mosney may not be as strict on these things and if a club stand was organised it might be fine to have more Modern cars on display. :compress:

Our club is built on inclusion of every mini from 1959 to 2008 no exceptions never was, never will be , if a show organiser choses to restrict entries to certain minis then thats their decision their choice BUT, We won't be there !! very simple its all of us or none of us , I am sure there are events in the area that would welcome a progressive club with no preconditions and these are the People We will support .

Personally i dont look at the age of a car but rather the work an owner puts into it. I agree that some shows dont welcome "newer" cars but i have seen some cars at these shows with 00 and 03 plates.

Ger, I agree that if if a show organiser choses to restrict entries to certain minis then the club should bycott.

One of the conditions of the mosney show this year was that your insurance had to include the rally clause?? I know of one club that bycotted this yerr because of this.

The rally clause is that your cars insurance must cover rallying!! ie.. off road racing! Most if not all insurance policies will not cover off roading of this type! Its a bit redic to need this policy to drive into a field and i wouldnt imagine too many classics had this insurance on the day!!!
