Back from our trip to Mondello yesterday. Great day and very well organised by all involved. There were 251 classics on the final parade lap to finish up the day. Great choice of cars of all different models took part during the day with the mini and ford capri taking centre stage. There were a number of new MINIS also on display in the paddock. We were able to walk around the pits and garages at ease to see what was going on. Marshals, stewards and Mondello committee were so nice to everyone It was great to drive on the circuit for my first time so I hope to go back there at some stage with the club in a official capacity. Special thanks to Jenny, Marion and Eileen of Mondello who made sure we were looked after.

Well done and also thanks to my fellow club members who travelled and made the day such a enjoyable occasion.

Well after a hard day On Saturday I decided to go to this event as I reckoned I had enough Brownie points, and boy I am glad I did. The event was very well run and such an array of
cars of all ages from 1932 Lagonda to a 2009 Works Cooper ’S’.
The racing was spectacular and the Mini’s were up there battling it out with the best ,it really was the best great fun.
The high light of the day was when we were picked to lead the parade of approx 250 Mini’s around the track. Manny thanks to the organisers at Mondello ( especially Eileen & Jenny )
also the Irish Vintage Scene for a superb day out .

Nice pics John, I can only repeat myself and say this was a fantastic event for the car enthusiastic person to attend. Hopefully we can include it on our calander next year 2010 with a little bit more planning. All for only € 10 which was great value. And sure enough as John stated we were honoured to be placed up front to lead the convoy around the race circuit. Were so lucky with the weather aswell.

Jon,
Sorry I missed you on the day but there was so many people and clubs there it was hard to get around to everyone that wanted to have a chat. This was my first visit to Mondello and as I have said already I intend going back again. Great value.

Regards
Richard

Hello Richard,i know what you mean,it was nice chatting to people from different club's and looking at all the mini's you wonder how the time went so quickly, and i have marked in my own calender for next year, ireland is getting quite established in the mini show's and run's, may it continue with the people that are over here there is no doubt about that, regard's jon :1icon_cool:
