We are hosting an economy run on Sunday July 15th starting at Apple Green petrol station Ballincollig at 11am , the event will be to see who can get the best mpg over a pre-determined route of approx 100km , we will fill up the Minis and MINIs at a discounted rate ( Thanks to Apple Green Ballincollig ) seal the filler caps ,drive the route and on return to Apple Green fill up again and calculate the fuel used , its that easy . we will have prizes for best petrol ,best diesel ,in both mini and MINI categories , make sure you have all the excess rubbish out of the car to save weight , make sure your tyres are pumped to the correct pressure ,and of course keep the right foot as light as possible , you will be amazed how many mpg you will get .any further info please pm me or call on 086 8663828 .

Apple Green have offered a discount of € 005 ( yes five cent per litre ) to all participants of the event , so make sure you don't fill up before you get there and miss out on some cheap fuel .

I will be transitioning from day shift to night shift that weekend so it would be dangerous for me to show, since I would be half/completely asleep :D

I can possibly make this as a non-Mini control car using the upper end of the fuel consumption scale ;)

Thank you Ger for a great FUN day out :)
Myself & Lou had a brilliant time.
It was SO hard to go so slow lol but was good fun and very challenging to try and get good mpg.
Well done to all the winners ;)

I was particularly pleased with getting 49mpg out of my R53 Cooper S !!! :D

Yep thanks so much for a fun and challenging day guys! It did make me very happy to not have to drive like Miss Daisy on the way home to Dublin though. Not that significant a difference in fuel consumption in the end despite going twice as fast :)

Some freakin loooooooonatics on the road tonight though...

Cheers for putting up with Black Booty today, it enjoyed the long run!

See you soon lads and lasses

Thanks to Ger for organising, just what I needed, a social day out.
Thanks for the prize, a nice Cab Sav, (I've 'drinked' it already)
Can't believe you got 49mpg from an S, Fergal.

Thanks for a great day Ger, What a great choice of roads for the event. The auto returned over 46 mpg with the 2 of us on board which was suprising. Nearly have John convinced that auto is the way to go in the future to save on the creeky joints. Very relaxing and great company for the day. Must leave the extra 20 psi of air out of the tyres now before I forget. Also thanks to Chris for the coffee stop when it was much needed in the mist.
