Even though this thread has gone completely off-topic, you'd want to think about doing the test again before our beloved Minister for F*ckups, doh, I mean Transport has his merry way. He's planning to introduce permits instead of provisionals, curfews, and double penalty points for people without a full license.

Well...it's not for the want of trying...believe me, I'm doing all I can to pass..... I've heard they've brought in external examiners to try and shift the backlog but eventhough I re-applied for the test back in July/August, I still haven't been given a time for the test...all I can do is wait!

Swampette,

A good friend of mine is involved in the local 'driver training/Ignition course/driver test' scene, I can give you his number if it'll help.

As for the Ring, they don't check your licence until you do something illegal. In such a situation though, the boots definitely help.
