Site Issues, Work in Progress ...

I think I have PM's fixed but I'm very jetlagged after Poland/Ryanair's wonderful time keeping, and the long drive back to Cork last night, so if it's still not working, let me know please.

Yup, I know. They do work if you manually enter them, but choosing to reply with a quote is what messes it up. Looking into it.

Well, Si figured out what the quotes are doing wrong, and unfortunately, it's no setting we can tick, or easy fix. The good news is our second development site is working brilliantly, and we're half way through fixing the quotes there. When we get the site finished, we'll make all the same changes here.

Up and running on the development site is :
Thread Merge
Word Wrap to prevent sideways scrolling
Auto Image resizing too!
Quotes (Finally)
Quick Reply to threads

MCOI2, I like that Si! For those that don't know, Si and I have an entire copy of this site running to test upgrades, etc.

The Quick Reply is very cool indeed, you just hit a link, and without waiting for a new page to load, you can just type in a box, and hit submit, and it gets done really quickly.

The word wrap means anyone posting a long website address, or other long text won't worry about having to have it split onto separate lines, the software will do this automatically.

Auto image resizing, means you can paste the address to any image, any size, and they'll automatically be resized to 500 pixels wide. The real bonus is that if you click on the small image, a popup window will appear with the full size image.

The thread merge is something normal users won't see, it allows us to join threads, so if someone signs up, says hello in the wrong thread, we can simply join them up together with the correct one.

As Si said, quotes are working on MCOI2 which fixes the only issue we have here.

There are a few small other upgrades we want to do before we make this public, so hold tough for another 2 weeks if possible people, it will be worth it!

Great work guys!
I'll be really happy with the auto resizing of photos!
(That's if I ever get round to posting the ones I took at MTI! )

There's another cool modification Si got working tonight on the test site, called "Country Flags". Basically, you choose the country your from in your Profile, and it puts a little flag under your avatar, very handy for our UK, European and American members!

Si's been busy tonight, he also got a stats mod working for the Forum. So at the click of a button, you'll be able to see the Top10 of everything .... busiest users/threads and even the most used smilie. It's very cool, and should get a bit of competition to see who can be the busiest MCOI online member :)
