Huge thank you must go to Si, who stayed online until 3am when I wussed out at 2am performing the upgrades, and due to his work over the last 3 weeks. He's been fantastic, and the work simply couldn't have happened without him. I know it's easy to point the finger at me as I'm the admin, but Si really made this one happen
So, what's changed? Well, country flags are now live. Go into your profile and you can choose your country, and hey presto, your country flag will appear under your avatar.
Quotes are working again, and PM's now appear at the top of the Forum where they used to be again.
Auto image resize is online. Simply do what you've always been doing with image posting, but don't worry about resizing it to suit the site, the site will automatically do that for you from now on, and when you click on the resized image, it will show a full size image.
Auto word wrap is online too, rather than having to scroll sideways when someone posts a long website address, or other long piece of text, the site will split it onto several lines.
Thread merge is up and running, it's not something you guys will see, but it allows us to sew some topics together, which is handy for example when a new person starts a separate thread, rather than posting in the "If you've just signed up, say hello here" topic.
Quick reply is functional. At the bottom of each page is a 'Quick Reply' function, if you click there, a reply box will appear, without having to load any other pages. Handy for those of you who like to catch the landmark posts such as 20000 and 30000 posts.
Also, there are about 300 smilies online too. We'll be playing around with the order of those, but if you click the 'view more Emoticons' under the standard 20, a window will pop up that you can resize. Bear in mind these will also include the standard old ones by the end of the week.
There are a few niggles like some logos on the main page missing, and the main logo that needs to be replaced, but they'll be done tonight. As predicted there are some sig issues now that we have disabled HTML. I will look at everyone's sig in the next few days and fix them for you without you needing to do it yourself.
The site should be a whole lot more useable now, and thanks for bearing with us while we were offline for the day. I hope you think it's been worth it.
