Spammers, site updates
Posted: Tue Feb 17, 2009 10:30 amDue to our popularity, it's inevitable that we were bound to attract spammers. I've updated our database this morning to exclude over 130 eMail domains known to be spam eMail accounts ... you may have noticed that recently we have had usernames with letters and numbers after them, these were spam accounts. Thankfully, we were protected enough that they couldn't post here, but they could register. From today on, they won't be able to register either.
I'm also disabling comments on the front page articles from today onwards for the same reason.
Also, there will be a few new sections appearing on the site's front page over the next few days. There'll be an upcoming events box which will show the next event organised, and also there'll be a newsletter section, featuring Sarah's newsletters to the Club. The newsletters will be put online about a month after the real ones go out, as fully-paid members get the benefit of reading it first.
