Vodafone data billing insanity

Postby Owen » Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:28 am

Just got my bill this morning at it was about 430 Euro, which is neat, as I only have a bill of about 130 a month max. My previous bill from September was 211 Euro - which I left unnoticed as I had been roaming in Poland and Germany and thought nothing more of it. However, when I got the bill this morning, I went pale. On examination, it seems that 300 Euro of this months bill is for 14 Megs of Data, and 140 Euro of the previous bill was for 8 Megs of Data. The maximum data charge you can run up in a month is 30 Euro!

Naturally, I've just phoned Vodafone and absolutely f*cked them out of it. They've given me a month's line rental F.O.C., and are investigating the issue which they think is down to a tarriff screw up on their part. If anyone else gets insane bills though, get them checked!

You think that's bad??!!! My brother's phone bill was once over the 1000euro mark......thanks to some serious long distance calls!!! He could have actually gotten a return flight to that place for the same amount! Less even.....dumbass!!!

Good result even if You had to wait , I think they expect People to just 'go away' and not follow up the complaint or refund .

You think that’s bad Owen. A bill was issued by a mobile provider to a company in Galway for €97K and yes it was all data!!! It was the result of some old GPRS cards picking up 3G. The network provider was not aware that the card had the capability and had no tariff in place…
