Car Damaged :(

Postby Shell » Sun Apr 20, 2008 5:22 pm

Well guys today.... for once in my life im glad i dont have a MINI....

Now before you all jump on me for making such a statement i will explain.

Long Story Short...

4.30am i'm woken up by the sounds of some guy outside, drunk, shouting, singing and banging. After the confusion and thoughts of "WTF is going on" i jump up to look out the window but cant see anyone or anything so i go back to sleep.

9.30am i go out to my car and find that the banging had in fact been my car... it had been used as a freckin trampoline by the drunken numpty!!! My poor car is now sporting a rather large dent in the roof and a slight dent in the bonnet where he must have jumped onto the car.

Im reeeally not happy but i prob have 1 thing to be glad of..... my car at the mo aint a MINI (my earlier statement should now make sense). Now it doesn't not stop me being sooo annoyed and upset but i cant help thinking - imagine how sick and gutted i'd be if it were one!!! All i can do now is see if the main dent can be pushed out or take it to the garage :(.

Have any of you guys n gals got stories like this? Have any "numpty's" dared touch your cars? How did you feel and what damage did they do?

I really do not understand the mentality of some people. If only i got my hands on the guy who did it i'd do plenty to him!

Foot prints on bonnet...

From what I heard from a friend, the offender was half naked running the streets, its just a shame they chose shells car as an adventure play ground :( Grrrrrrrr I Will try pushing the dent out as much as I can for her to make it look half respectable at least, then perhaps add flame throwers to the underside for any future passer bys !!!

B**t**ds , when are these kind of idiots going to be dealt with in a proper manner , how the hell has society left this kind of behavior become 'normal' in this day and age of security cameras etc it is easy to find and prosecute these ass**les but the lawmakers and legal eagles just treat them like 'victims ' " oh He was high on drink and drugs " " He didn't know what He was doing " if He was high on drugs that is against the law so lock the bas**rd up not use it as an excuse !!!!!!! sorry to hear the bad news Shell but if it helps your pressie will be on the way tomorrow .

Shell

I'm so sorry about your damage!! We were out in Dublin one night, and came back to find the back wiper broken off my friends Astra, and it was thrown just in front of the car, only later we notice a dent in roof.. They must have went up and over.... B@@@ards, that they have nothing better to do than use a car as a trampoline! No-one deserves that type of grief. Hope you get it sorted soon!

Well the Police have been, not that they could do anything. At least if the numpty got picked up for drunk and disorderly last night they can possibly match them to the incident but since no-one (that we know of) actually saw him do it nothing would even come of that.

I personally think there were a few factors to play aside from the drink (which obviously he had, had). Where i had parked my car, the fact it was the last in the street, its an older car compared to the rest in the vacinity annnddddd the colour. Now this may confuse some of you when i say colour but i have my reasons...namely football and the colour of my car matching with an opposing teams colour. The guy was singing.... i think he was singing a footie song!

It racial descrimation against my Betty (my car's name haha) because of her colour i tell ya!! (and i told the policeman!!)

Thanks to everyone for the well wishing. Hopefully Si can work some magic and make the car look better than what it looks like now (which is baaaad!!)

Like ive said i really cant understand the mentality of it. I could not care if the person was sober or drunk/on drugs as like has been said that dont matter. Regardless, there is the intent there and at some point of committing such an act your bound to know what your doing.

Annnnway whats done is done. Lets hope what goes around does come in this case and summit really bites him in the ass REALLY hard!

I'm sure I can work my magic hands over that bodywork nooooo problem  I will be able to remove the worst of it, but might leave one or two creases in the metal. Thats how it is unfortunately. Might scan ebay for a new/2nd hand bonnet for you.

Well if I can get that flame thrower working, or connected to 240 volts, it would be more than a bitten ass!

that is exactly what happened to me, except it was my mini it happened to :(

it was last halloween and i had driven up to my friends house on college road. thye have a little bay behind the house big enough for 3 cars so i parked the mini there. my friend and i decided to close one of the gates (the other was broken) just to make it a bit more secure as we knew there would be mayhem later that night by students in fancy dress!

anyhow, woke up in the morning there and drove back home. a bit later on i was looking out of my window and i saw that there was a strange reflection on the roof of the mini which looked really weird! i went down to check it and there was a crater of a dent just like the one in the car in this topic, there was also a smaller dent closer to the back of the roof, i found a clear footprint on the boot as someone had obvivously used the boot to jump onto the roof.

i was fuming i checked the interior roof and manage to knock it back out, the big dents were gone but i was left with lots of smaller dents that i couldn't get out.

i just couldn't understand how anyone could do that to a car especially a classic like a mini. some students have no respect for others or things that don't belong to them, I learnt my lesson anyway, i never left my car overnight near all the student houses id always leave it at home if i was going out.

Its getting more common I am afraid , We have a Customer Sportpack in at the moment with damage from some eejit walking over the roof , The gardai just won't investigate any thing as 'minor' as this !!! We will be lucky to get away without replacing the roof skin which would be a 'four figure' job and thats 'Minor ' !!!!! I despair sometimes , no problem though 'ambushing ' the real criminals ------ the motorist , for doing 52 in a 50 km zone now THATs a real crime .
