A quick question…

I have a reinstallation CD of windows XP and I am trying to install it onto a dumb terminal.

As the machine will not have an OS system to start with will I will need to get a boot disk, if so is this the correct program?

All you really need is a floppy with startup files and CD Drivers, try this instead :

If i set the unit to boot from the CD rom ( selected from the Bios ) can I still use the file you suggested?

Hrm. Yes, I think you need to make sure the CD is in Joliet format, but yes, I think it will work. It's been a while since I've done it. What you can do if you have one lying around, is use a Windows 98 CD to boot, it will load DOS with CD Drivers for you into a RAM disk, then swap it for an XP CD, and run setup.exe
