Just downloaded an Mp3, which on my Eircom 2Meg DSL would normally give me around 200k per second, and I got 220k per second on the o2 broadband. I also made a test skype call, and the quality seemed okay, it was to Skype's answering machine though, so hard to guage. Will be much more informative when I actually make a call to a real person I think!

Just had my first skype call on o2, and it was perfect. Also, we bought a Dovado UMR Router, the modem plugs into it, and it shares the 3g modem wirelessly around the house like standard broadband. Very happy with this solution!

Gotta say I'm still blown away by the o2 7.2 Mbps broadband, with the mobile router to share it with all the WiFi gadgets around the house. We're having close to zero problems with it, and it's faster than Eircom - the only downside is that they seem to have issues with FTP'ing which means I have to do that manually through a web interface, but other than that, I'm very happy with it. Will post a photo of the router & modem this weekend.

I'm thrilled with mine as well, way better than dial up, so porn on demand. How cool is that :bounce:

Thinking of getting the new Meteor broadband.
It would just be while i'm at 'work' :1icon_colors: :)
The prepay looks good and coverage in Cork city so should work okay in Little Island.
Using Alvie's '3' modem today and it's working fine.

Right lads, that's a fair warning. If you see a DHL van parked up at the side of the road, do not approach it under any circumstances. You may not be prepared for what you encounter.

I sent off for Meteor's new mobile broadband on Prepay.
Should have it in a few day's time.
You can buy a day pass for €2.99(500MB allowance) or a Month pass for €19.99(5GB allowance).

I am only using it while i am at 'work'..... :D
as i have Eircom wireless broadband at home.

Will let ye know how i get on with it.

The Meteor Mobile Broadband arrived today.
Set it up on my Toshiba Netbook NB100.
Works very well.
I'll try it at work on Monday.
Seems very fast too, getting 7.2 mbps in Ballincollig. :1icon_cool:

Using the Meteor broadband at work today.
Works fairly good.
I'm at the edge of reception so it comes in and out a bit with speed etc.
But i am getting 7.2MBPS most of the time.
It jumps to using 'Edge' and 3G sometimes to keep the service.

But generally happy enough with it ;)

Sorted the connection on the Meteor broadband. It came with a lead to connect to the laptop. You have the option of using this or just putting it srtaight into the laptop. I tried the lead today and it acts as and aerial for reception. Perfect reception(7.2mbps) since :1icon_cool:
