Starry's MK1 Austin Cooper S Build .... well kind of!!

Postby Starrywalsh » Tue Jul 15, 2008 9:19 pm

Hey everyone,

I came across this scale model of an Austin Mini Cooper S on my recent travels, the scale is 1/24 so its quite small and will be a bit fiddely to build, I used build planes, helicopters and tanks when I was young but have not tried any sort of airfix model in years. Any one else try build one of these? I have noticed the attention to detail is amazing, down to engine rocker covers, little chrome s, overriders and cornor bars. Am going to get glue and paint tomorrow and get cracking!!

By examining the models instructions I have found out something I never knew, the cooper S in Japan had two side lights to show the number plate in comparison the single light under the number plate that you see over here ...... The model comes with both - so I have a choice :colors:

Mark, my brother does a lot of model airplanes and ships...he has an motorized airbrush for painting tiny models.... have NO idea how to use it though! Apparently it's great for "fiddly" bits!! :pottytrain5:

Oh poshhh, a motorised airbrush, deadly, must keep my eyes open, I have done a ship before - back in the day :colors: I had to use the tip of a pin to paint the tinybits - nothing fancy...

Sure go for it Starry!!! As long as you keep us updated with your progress.... and make sure you follow the instructions....I think it's a macho thing that men will not look at the instructions...until they've given up!!!

:hiding:

Oh my god....I'm LOVING these new smilies...!!!! There's one for every occasion!! :sign3:
