Price Watch thread

Postby Starrywalsh » Tue Jul 22, 2008 3:07 pm

In these times when everything from petrol to food to colthes to drink seem to be getting more expensive by the day I have deceided so start this thread where people can post the cheapest petrol prices they find to the price of a pint etc etc - anything really.

Also if someone sees any prices totally out of hand they could stick it up here too.

I think this type of thread is a good idea, hpefully we can keep it going.

I will start this off....

Petrol - for €1.25 a litre in the Autoport, Cork Road, Waterford
its just over €1.27 a litre in Tesco Ardkeen, Waterford

Food - A bag of new potatoes in Lidl - only 49c (over €2 cheaper for same thing in Tesco)
A tub of butter in Lidl - only 49c - was wery about this one but exactly the same as utterly butterly!!

Services - €70 - the price an electrician was asking me to wire up a cooker to a new chrome surrounded switch - is it me or does that seem like a rob for a five min job!!
