Mini Notebook Acer one 8.9"

Postby Baker » Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:09 pm

Hi all

I'm looking for some advice... I'm thinking about purchasing a mini-notebook

A machine I am considering is the Acer one with a solid 8Gb solid state hard drive.

The machine is for sale in Harvey Norman with a carier bag and a wireless mouse for €269. The option for an external hard drive 160 GB is available with it for €60 with the unit.

Some concerns I have, the battery is only 3 cell so the life expectancy will be poor. The o/s on the machine is linx, will this suppot a USB Voda modem?

Should I be looking at this instead?
It has XP so it will run the usb modem and also has a internal hard drive. It also has a 6 cell battery

Any one had any dealing with these machine or has anyone any other suggestions?

Thanks
Pat

its all down to the price and the spec and what you want.
you will find that once you get a bigger HD, then XP etc the cost starts pushing up quickly.

eventually its better to but a 15" laptop thats an older model that stores are trying to shift then fork over the money for a netbook.

ps hold off till October for win 7
