New NCT/Penalty Point rules

So now, if you get caught without an NCT, it's 5 penalty points. What do we think?

There is total confusion about this again , typical of this country of ours where the Government have no grasp of reality or indeed basic communication of laws etc , the 'real' story is you MAY get up to 5 points + of course a huge monatary fine --- surprise surprise !!!!! IF a Judge sees fit , this is after a Garda takes you to court for driving a dangerous vehicle without an NCT test , The Gardai cannot just give you points at the roadside as per speeding etc etc , the NCT computer system went into overload the day this piece of lunacy was announced and their call centres were swamped and nobody could make a booking ,

It should also be noted that some insurance policies are invalid or can take a set percentage from the amount of a claim if the vehicle does not hold a valid nct certificate!!
