Transition Year - ideas for a mini company?

Postby coolcon » Sat Aug 26, 2006 12:52 am

Because of the fact that Im really bored and Im not keen on going to sleep you are all going to help me with my various problems. So ... I'll be starting back at school on Wedensday :( but it's transition year so it's not quite as bad as last year. Now, Ill have to get 2 places to do work experience and also set up a mini-company later in the year. So what do you think i should do? there are no Mini specialists around Carlow so I can't get work experience that way. And I cant travel because our silly school does work experience only every friday for a few consecutive weeks (not a solid block of days). Id like to do something with cars - that is what I love. But i cant think of anywhere good to do it. Any ideas?
And then theres the mini-company (miniature company - not a company for minis  ). Now Im not loaded so I cant start my own car dealership  ! But I dont want to do something boring like you always see (people making mirrors and frames... ).
Now, Im glad Ive got all that off my chest. It wasted some time too. Im marginally more tired than i was when I started typeing. If you got this far you deserve a medal. You can have one - but not from me.
Goodnight.

No problem Con , It's just I need to think about that one before I post , I would stick to something that will be straightforward and be easy for someone not interested in Your specific subject to analyze and evaluate , You I presume must set up a 'virtual' company and run it and make a profit on paper of course , it doesn't matter what Your product is it's the way you go about the formation of Your company , Your product and market research , Your sales projections ,logistics etc and Your projected profitability and how You show how all of above are intertwined to make a profitable company .
are You interested in Model Minis ? if so look at perhaps investigating the options for an outlet to sell Mini Models online and at Shows etc , you could commission 'special ' custom models ie MCOI Minis with graphics specific to the club ( do and We will break your legs )  . or 'Irish' themed Minis etc . just a thought and if there is anything I can help with just shout .

I know what you mean when you say that the product is not the most important aspect, only I think it would be best to have an interest in the product so as to be more enthusiastic about the company as a whole. It's harder to research, market and , at the end of the day, sell a product youre not interested in. I like the model minis idea though. Thanks for the advice.
