Movies seen recently

Postby AdyP » Fri Jan 15, 2010 10:09 am

Hi guys

Finally got to see Avatar last night in 3D. Really enjoyed it, some awesome visuals in the thing, I can see why it took so long for them to be able to generate the effects properly. Definitely not something you could knock together on your laptop over a weekend ;)

3D is the way to go anyway, for sure, it adds a lot of extra depth (obviously) without it being gimmiccy.

Also saw Law Abiding Citizen at the weekend, with Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler. So not what you expect from the start, you think it has pretty much wrapped it up but then it gets a whole lot more interesting. Recommended anyway.

Any cool stuff you guys have seen?

A

Avatar 3D I think has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm still trying to go to it again with Gosia, but she's having none of it so far. Stole the glasses after too :)

The glasses were sold with the tickets for €3 in IMC Dun Laoghaire and can be used again in future. I guess they decided cheeky scumbags nicking glasses was costing them too much ;)

Avatar 3D was definitely my favourite movie so far this year.. Well worth the wait. I took 2 pairs of glasses home, and paid nothing extra for them..... I'm hoping they bring out a 3D DVD version & i can wear the dorky glasses in the comfort of my own home! :)

I went to see Up in the Air a few days ago... very strange film...definitely got me thinking but had a very strange ending!! Was very funny though!! The lads will love Vera and the girls will adore Gorgeous George!!

Hi all, i saw Up + Harry Brown over the weekend, two of the best films iv seen in a long time..
Up is just brilliantly funny and pixar done a fantastic job on the visuals it kept me glued to the TV :)
Harry Brown is similar to the story line of Torino but much better..edge of the seat stuff
Turoughly recomend both of them.. :icon_jokercolor:

I saw Up in the Air a couple of weeks ago, actually pretty good, especially as I was on a plane and was spending too much time in airports :)
The Hangover I liked quite a lot, especially the ending, that was probably the funniest bit.
Hurt Locker, agreed definitely worth a 4, not for girls though. They would get bored. Not many explosions either for a film about bomb disposal teams, guess movies about crap disposal teams wouldn't last as long!

The missus and I endured Couple's Retreat as well, although not in the cinema thank the lord. Pull out your toenails with rusty pliars...more entertaining I would say.

Looking forward to Iron Man 2 and Kick Ass as well, that sounds like fun.

Only recently got to see the Hangover.
I really liked some of the very random lines.....'Tigers like pepper, they don't like cinnamon'.
For some reason, that had me howling!

Also, I only saw Star Trek recently!
I've so much movie catching up to do......
