As this forum section was looking a little bit dusty and forgotten I thought I would post my computer specs and hopfully it will get you lot to post in it a bit more.

It's quite funny reading the old specs people posted, it will be interesting to see these posts in a couple of years!

So, I have a custom built (by myself) machine:

Intel i7 overclocked to 4.1ghz
6gb Ram
ATI 5870 graphics card
128gb SATA3 SSD for windows
4 other hard disks to give a total of about 3TB of storage (I only just bought a 2TB disk as I had run out of space on the other 3)
850w power supply (overkill, I know, but I had planned to get a second graphics card, but never got around to it before the 5870 stopped being made)
2 screens, one 1920x1080 the other 1680x1050

Many might think that a computer like that is overkill, but keep in mind I play games all the time and also work for a games company

I use an iMac 21.5" , Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 , Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 , Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74) . also use a Mac at work .

Combined recording studio/web dev setup, Dell 30" monitor running at 2550x1600, there's a Radeon card in there with half a gig of RAM, but the machine itself is modest now. Cost a fortune at the time, Dual Core, 2GHz, 2 Gigs of RAM, 2 TB of HD space, something close to 40 USB ports, Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard, Razr Gaming Mouse, Track IR, CH yoke and pedals for flight sims, Silent Corsair 700 Watt PSU, there's a few oddities in there too like a PCMCIA Card Reader, Parallel Port for some old dongles, and a Logitech 6.1 Surround sound system, and a Behringer 88 key MIDI controller keyboard along with a mixing desk not in the photo. There's also some other crap on the desk, graphics tablet, camcorder with firewire cradle, and the desk itself is a professional recording studio desk with 60 units of rack space.

I'd love to get one of those dell 30' screens! I do think someone tidied their desk before taking a picture though

This is my desk. I probably shouldn't be proud of how messy it is.



I should point out I made the whole desk myself.
