Starry's Mini

Postby Starrywalsh » Thu Oct 11, 2007 9:17 am

Hi,

Firstly let me say that my mini is not really a "project", the reason I have started this tread is that I want to catalog of all the changes that are made to my Mini over the coming months/years. If a mod wishes they may move this to what they think is a more suitable place.

Ok, Here are some pictures of my mini as it is now, 0CT 07.

The Exterior is not to bad, only minior rust at joints, the passenger side wing has some bubbling on it and the door shuts could do with some work.

[IMG:1024:768]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa212/Starrywalsh/MyMiniAug07-010.jpg[/img]

The Interior is basic, all seems origional, a few people have tried to buy the pressed black door cards from me - they must not be available anymore
Oh and you will notice she is automatic, not the smoothest changes in the world, if anybody has ever had a shave with a 6 month old BIC razor that is something similar to the gear changes in trems of smoothness - But I love it :P

Under the bonnet is the original 998cc engine, never has given me any bother ....yet. The only problem I have with it is the lack of power - I reckon I have about 10bhp :D :) :o

Looks very nice mate! One of those oval Cooper S badges on the bonnet and one for the boot would set the look off nicely as well.

Cracking Mini, even though I wouldn't like an auto myself, preferring the precise rifle-bolt action of the manual change! :D

Nice car mate :) Love the front, with the Black signiture stripes, spots and black number plate ! :D

Must see it in the 'flesh' sometime!

Keep us up to date with any progress, as every classic owner has a wishlist :D

I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow and get them posted, just spent the last 3 hours cleaning her. Here is a list of changes so far.....

Full Respray, slight colour change - She is now Old Irish White
Roof is Resprayed Black
Black Group two arches with a chrome trim
12" Deep dish Black and Silver Superlites
Clear front indicator lenses
Clear Jewel Rear lights
Chrome fog lamp has replaced the standard black plastic one
New Chunky crome petrol cap, I think its Monza!
Angel Eye head lights
Little chrome door handle insert thingys!!!
Disc brakes have been added
Spotlights have been wired up to work when I turn on full lights
and the roof has been trimmed in chrome too.....

I will have the pics up tomorrow....

Also I have Smootha Ride Suspension kit on the way
Overrider and cornor bar kit on the way
and Austin script boot badge.

Thursday, an alarm and remote central locking will be fitted (this is really due to the growing trend I have seen on these fourms of attacks on peoples mini's, which has unfortunatly climaxed with a mini being burned out on a club member) It will make me rest easier at night knowing its fitted.

My favourite changes are so far ..... The petrol cap, the silver trim on the roof, the chrome rear fog lamp, and if you look close you can see the club logo on display in my window :D
