Fair play!
Ger(Irlmin) on here can re-skin the ones you have if they're not too far gone.

Hey Cian,

I just resized your images so people wouldn't have to scroll. Could you do that before uploading them? If you're not sure how, there's a free program called Irfanview that will allow you to do it. 600 pixels wide or less would be great.

Welcome to the world of Minis!

The Mini and Metro engines are basically the same, just make sure you use both the engine and box from the Metro, then you avoid confusing A and A+ series engines and gearbox casings.

Good idea to replace the engine mounts while you are at it too. If you are replacing a 1000cc with a 1275 you'll need a different radiator top hose as it is shaped differently. Might as well replace the old rad while you have the engine out. Spec of rad will depend on the engine size or whether you are going to tune it.

Any questions there are knowledgable folks on here that can help you anyway mate.

Best of luck with the project Cian , as Adrian said the swap is straightforward with just some of the mini bits needed on the Metro unit , put both on the ground and swap over anything that looks different on the Metro ie clutch cover , engine mounts , manifold etc etc and of course any help You need just ask .

Shouldn't need to swap the clutch cover should he Ger, the whole unit should come as a whole from the Metro, as the clutch mechanism can often be different. Cannot remember the Verto/pre-Verto differences or when they applied. Can anyone else shed some light?

Metros are cable and the easiest way to sort it is just change the cover / arm . otherwise He is changing arm and having to possibly adjust and We all know where that will lead !!!!!! .

Take and post a pic , depends on how bad whether you do a 'local' welding repair or replace the panel .
