Well, it's been a year and a day since I got the S and my Cherished warranty has expired. :1icon_eek:

So, a busy weekend on eBay and MINI2 and I've a 15% reduction pulley and a GTT airbox on their way - and I got the pair of them for under £200, bargaintastic! :) :) :)

Got to get a new smaller drive belt and some new plugs and I'm all set for a session of fun and games installing it all. Hopefully that will get me up around the 200bhp mark and more importantly it will sound fantastic!!!! :king:

The JCW 'Works' drive belt should be ok with 15% pulley , I will check the length of one Tomorrow if We have one in stock and you can get it in your local motor factor from the measurement , you will also need a good remap with that lot , and We always replace the tensioner when We are doing 15% pulleys .

That's great Ger, I will be looking into a remap later in the summer - still might have a few more things to be added depending on funds.

When you say you replace the tensioner do you mean the whole assembly?

Yes Niall ,
The tensioner complete is part number 11287509476 and the belt size for the JCW belt is 6 rib x 1374 , this should be fine for your pulley .

Parts arrived already - from a private MINI2 sale and eBay. They could teach some of the commercial sellers a thing or two about service! :1icon_cool:

Updates as the bits get fitted hopefully in the next few weeks. :D

Couldn't wait.... I know I'll have to take it off again to do the pulley but I fitted the Airbox this afternoon.... The noise is every bit as good as I had hoped - louder supercharger whine and more exhaust popping.... :1icon_cool: :1icon_cool: :1icon_cool: :1icon_cool:

Can't wait for the pulley now!

I read an article about a MINI Cooper S JCW GP that was given the complete works by GT Tuning, including replacing the supercharger with a turbo to give 300bhp. I hope you enjoy the sound of the GTT airbox.
Will the new airbox up the bhp?

I wouldn't expect the airbox to add very much - maybe a couple of Hp - it already had a Pipercross panel filter in the standard box. Worth it for the sound anyway. :)
