Hi all, I'd like to introduce you all to RUO, its taken me a while but I've finally splashed the cash, after much fraught 'negotiation' at Castle MINI in York. Here he is....

[IMG:639:482]http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t175/BrianDromey/Picture2-5.jpg[/img]
[IMG:639:480]http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t175/BrianDromey/Picture3-2.jpg[/img]
He was registered in March 2007 (an 07/07 car in UK speak!) and has the following:
Astro Black Metallic Paint
Roof & Mirror Caps in Body Colour
71" Web Spoke Alloys
Anthracite Roof Lining
ASC+T
CHILI Pack
Chrome-Line Interior
Comfort Access
Heated Mirrors/Washer Jets
HiFi Speaker System
Interior Trim Piano Black
Manual Air Conditioning
Metallic paint
Mirror Caps In BodyColour
Multifunction for S/Wheel
Nationwide Delivery Avaliable
Visibility Pack
Without COOPER Badge

Im also having an iPod interface and a chrome filler cap fitted before delivery on the 6th December. Also considering having the COOPER badge put back on - people might think RUO is a ONE!

One question, RUO seems to be an early build without the "secret storage" compartment above the glovebox - is this easily/cheaply refitted? Ive read stories about it being "sealed" on early cars - can anyone shed any light?

Im well chuffed - ony 15 sleeps and an Exam between here and pick-up, I can't wait!

Brian.

CONGRATS!!!! :1icon_cool:
Very cool indeed!
I had an early build R56-Nov '06-and didn't have the storage pack either.
I don't think it is retrofitable to be honest...but i could be wrong! :)
Well wear.

Thanks for the kind words guys....I'll let RUO know ye approve when I next see him :D. Im hoping to bring the car with me over the Christmas holidays. Really looking forward to riving RUO on some familiar roads.

The 'secret' storage area is retrofittable and there was actually a service bulletin covering the work to be done, although this may be US only it should be covered under warranty, I've asked MINI UK for clarification on this. I know it's small, but it is the ideal place to keep my iPod out of harms way.

Patient...indeed. The journey all started out when one of my mates popped into KOL BMW for a part for his 316 touring and there was a BRG MINI with Cordoba Beige interior. I'd say that must have been 4 years ago now. Since then I knew it was a MINI or nothing.

All I need now is an Astro Black Owner Avitar, where would I get one?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Also I just noticed a very special part of the spec "National Delivery Available" - serves me right for copying and pasting directly from minicherished!:1icon_redface:

Well, I picked up RUO today and I must say I absolutely love him, I've been driving all day loving the way the car clings to the road. It's amazing and I love it, although the stunning AB paintwork is looking a bit dirty already, the weather is rubbish here at the minute!

The iPod interface works well, but I've still not figured out how to work it properly, been too busy driving to read the hand book!
