:) :) :) :) :) :) :) Just got in from driving my new(to me) Cooper S!
Picked her up in Drogheda at 3 and have been grinning manically ever since!!!! `03 dark Silver with black roof and Cooper stripes tinted windows all round. Standard wheels (to be replaced). 1 owner from new with 35K on the clock - very clean car! Interior has red/burgundy leather seats and wood trim dash(which will be removed). Too dark to take pics tonight, but hope to get a few up tomorrow.
Do you think June is too early to write to Santa with my wish list?
Better get off to bed so I can get up early for another spin around Howth Hill (shift change in the Garda station is at six!!!!!).

Congrats on your S!

There's just something with all that power that's quite addictive, isn't there!

Enjoy it, and well wear! And it's just as well you waiting until after MINI United when you bought, or Santa could have been out of a job!

Are you in Dublin or Drogheda?

Thanks guys,

I`m in Dublin - Sutton - hence the Howth Hill test track in the back garden reference!! Love the power and great ride even on run flats! Bougth the `78 mini last November with the aim of doing a complete rebuild this winter - still the plan but is taking a backseat for the next month or so while I get to grips with the new machine. Hope to meet you all for a spin soon!

They're not the standard wheels though, they're the 17" S Spokes which were an upgrade that came with the Chili Pack. They're a great wheel, and relatively light weight too!

Hi Owen,

Ithought these wheels were standard as every MINI I see seems to be on them? I think they look great, but was planning on changing them as I want to fit R56 S brakes and also go for a black spoke/polished lip wheel. I had the team dynamics jet black 17 in mind?

Thanks Ger. Would save me having to change the wheels until the tyres need changing too - unless anyone out there wants to buy slightly curbed S spokes with good thread Pirelli run-flats?

Bought a new JCW carbon fibre dash on ebay and fitted it last night. Supposed to be an easy job - well it is when you know how! Took about 2 hours and ended up removing the top of the dash to get behind the airbag. Lucky for me my panel-beater friend Barry dropped by, otherwise i would have been there all night!! I have to say I think it looks fantastic and will be looking to replace the gear knob very soon.
I got Homer out of the garage this afternoon - first time in 2 weeks - and gave him a polish. He really came up well considering the crap paint job. I am planning on getting his roof painted black just as soon as the stripes I bought (on ebay - its great!) arrive. i also have a carbon fibre dash for him that I bought last year, which I might have a go fitting tomorrow. I have taken a few more pics and added them below

Wow!

Looking good Eric!
The Carbon dash really does suit your S much better than the wood trim.
Good stuff!
