Project R75

Rebuilding a Mini? Building a rally car? Making a Z Car from the Ground Up? Well, create a thread here, and keep us updated. It's a great way to track your own progress as you go along, and keep yourself sane! If you own a car, you can show it off here too.

Thanks lads, spent last night trying to figure out the best way to integrate an iPod and bluetooth into it, will look at it more again tomorrow, but it's easy enough, the navigation is the same as BMW's 3 Series, so all the wiring should be the same.

I fitted a new satnav screen from eBay yesterday, the old one had a few lines through the screen which were dead, so the new one cured that. Fitted an iPod interface while I was at it, so now I have radio/cassette/6cd/iPod/Nav/TV :D

Fitted a remap box to the 75 this week, and it's up to a nice responsive 150 Bhp now. Completely different car, and much more enjoyable to be working out of. Also fitted a 220v inverter for running small appliances, charging laptops, and a bit stupid roof box too for holding equipment :)

I think it was yourself I spotted in the Rover below in Mahon today. The roofbox looks about as big as my diggs at college!

I must say the car looks a million dollars, the Xennons and Alloys are very eye-catching.

Well wear and best of luck with it!

Brian.

Yeup, that was me. I was hoping that toot of the horn was a friendly hello, but I suspected not! :1icon_redface:
Sadly doing that was a bit counterproductive....I had to walk miles to B&Q and drag all my stuff back as well! I suppose what goes around.....

Fitted a new air filter today, the new one is fluffy and white. The one that came out? Holy crap. Black, covered in leaves and debris. She should be able to breathe now. I've it booked in with Ger & Aiden next week for an oil service, gearbox oil change, and to sort out the suspension bushes. Should be perfect then for another mountain of mileage.

Nice one Owen ;)
It is amazing what just changing the airfilter does!!!
Especially in the MINI, nearly always manky!!! lol
Should see bit of an improvement in the fuel consumption too :)
