Bawnee's R55

Postby Bawnee » Sun Jan 03, 2010 3:07 am

Ok.. Here goes.... there's always something.... :)

Look at my recent discovery:
Photos below from all angles....
Advice appreciated, just to say i'm not prepared to just stick some glue or other product under & put on weight to hold down & add to buckling, i am prepared to peel back to where bubble/buckling begins... so need advice on what do do, how to do it well & i would like it to be a professional job...if at all possible.. thanks in advance! Siobhan the Fan of lots of Websites! ;)

Only way to sort that is with ... a bit of glue underneath ... and some heat to put it back into the original shape. A hairdryer on it for ages will work, or a heat gun on it for a short while.

Definitely not Araldite. You'll never ever get it off again. That stuff sets harder than concerete. Just go to Easons and get some spray adhesive, cover up the areas you dont want to get glue in with paper and masking tape, and spray under the bulge. Then get a heat gun, heat the metal strip, and work it back into place.

Well thanks... I'll try source the adhesive & the hairdryer will be my heat gun!! Just checking I do not remove the strip ?? Bro wanting to pull it off I'm opting not! It'll be a team effort, thanks!

Can you not get another one under warranty. Seems unusual for it to buckle just like that
