This is my 2003 Cooper "Shelly"

Image

I bought her in December of last year and have only made a couple of purchases so far;
A new set of Bosch wiper blades
A new remote key

Next on the list is;
Essentials
Replace the rusted exhaust casing and perhaps upgrade to a sportier exhaust
Fix the cigarette lighter

Luxuries
Install the iPod direct control CD player I bought replacing the standard cassette (!) player
Install chrome foglights
Black bonnet stripes

Shelly is looking good Amy :)
There are loads of little things you can do to your MINI, Cooper S side sills, Rear spoiler etc etc.
Thanks for joining up at the weekend and looking forward to seeing yourself and Shelly out for some more events soon ;)

Ferg you are putting ideas in my head now :D A rear spoiler would look very nice! Would welcome any pointers you could give me; if Shelly looks half as good as Yorkie by the end of her revamp I will be one happy lady :)

Bawnee: Its awesome to have a few ladies on here, hope to see you (and your MINI) soon too :)

Hehe :)
It's a slippery slope but GREAT FUN! ;)
Just the standard 'Chilli pack' rear spoiler would look good or perhaps the 'Aero' rear spoiler.

This is the 'chilli pack' spoiler :

Here is the 'Aero' rear spoiler :

Oh I like the chilli pack spoiler, that would look good with the black roof :D

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good exhaust, something sporty for the open road but not too loud for normal city driving?

The chilli pack one is nice alright. The Aero one has much more of a curve on it ;)
Michael Lenton with the Black '03 MINI recently got a Scorpion exhaust for his. Tailpipe is quite big but it is actually very quiet and sounds gorgeous.

Yeah the tailpipe is a 4" diameter, so is a tad on the large side, but looks damn good with my new wheels. Not that I am suggesting you spend money on new wheels too :P

When the car is idling I would say it isn't any louder than the standard one. Even when giving it some, its not really any louder than standard.
