Replaced the 'chrome' key surround today with a much better quality blue anodized metal key surround.
The original MINI ones were chrome covered plastic and prone to wear and breaking.
Picked this up recently. Much higher quality and looks well :)

Well my R56 S has covered over 10,000 kms in my ownership since I got it in September last year.
I truly Love the car and every minute I drive it :)
I am getting an average of 33mpg out of it whilst driving it "enthusiastically" which is 99% of the time, which I'm very happy with. As a test I drove all week at 100kph on cruise control even in 120kph zones and it has given me 41mpg so nearly 10mpg extra ! :) :)
Mindnumbing though :(
But handy for my new longer commute to work ;)
Unusually for me I haven't done much at all to the car since I got it bar the remap which has truly transformed the car :)
and servicing etc ;)
I will be doing my first external detail on it soon so will post photos when it's done.

WOW, can't believe you have your R56S 6mths already, Ferg.

That's unbelievable about the difference in the mpg.

Hope to see this soon. And technically, haven't you already modded the outside, with the stubby aerial! ;)

Before photo :
It doesn't look too bad but it hasn't seen any proper tlc wax wise since it was bought in 2007 I'd say :(

Well "Bluey" as my R56 Cooper S is now called, passed its NCT today :)
126,000 kms on it now.
The last 13,000 kms since I took over ownership have been Smiles all the way :)

We recently went to Scotland for a Mini Run with another club I'm involved in so I thought I'd post up how we got on.
A Massive Thanks to Rob & Christine for an Epic Mini Run :) :) :)
We really really enjoyed it.
Thanks to Pete for his snow foaming skills on Saturday !! lol
My R56 S was all shiny again after its trip over.
It was great FUN from start to finish.
Seriously good meal on the Saturday evening and very kind of the owner of Rissons to invite the non-staying people for free breakfast the morning of the Run ! Proper Scottish kindness :)
Never pushed my car as hard ever and it performed faultlessly throughout.
The sight ahead of me of all the GP1's and the GP2 will stay with me for ever !
The potholes were immense !!
But we managed to avoid most of them.
It's a thumbs up from myself & Lou ;)
Great to meet everyone again and meet new people also.

Pete flat out at car washing ! :

It was excellent FUN :)

I have invited them to Ireland and it may be next year.
The lack of high octane petrol is a problem for them however but we'll see how it goes.
