On noticed that Frank Keane MINI had a 152 Reg JCW that only has 3,700km on the clock.

It's definitely a heart car.....I've had my head car 4 years now.

Decisions....decisions!

So obviously we are not out to influence you in any way Derek :)

Throwing away all practicality for the sake of horsepower...imagine that!

Hope you come to a happy arrangement mate.

I've really fallen for this one, and I even did the insurance check to see what the difference is on a 4 year old 143bhp diesel Countryman and a 5 month old 231bhp petrol JCW hatch!

Thankfully, the joys of getting older meant that the change in premium is negligible.

I contacted the Sales Guy to arrange a proper look over tomorrow, and was told that this is now as good as sold. But there is a slot available for an immediate build. I'm not sure how I feel about that; okay I'd be able to get a Moonwalk Grey/Red JCW, but I will loose the substantial costs saving! I was very disappointed to hear that it was practically sold. I did mean to call them today, but will do so first thing in the morning.

Derek,
I have a similar problem in that I would ONLY buy a 'demo' or very low mileage MINI again , deprecation was never a major problem in the early days of MINI . it looks an amazing looking MINI though , I am still struggling with the decision I may have to make , can I move back to a hatch from the Countryman ? I did 600 km in a really good R56 S over the last few days to see if that would break the mental 'deadlock' and am still no clearer in My mind , I really love the CMS and had hoped the Clubman might do it for Us but I just can't warm to it --and that's leaving out the crazy pricing !!!! . I feel you need to go with your heart on this though , but I would recommend getting a demo JCW for a few days and do your normal driving stuff and at least that will answer some question I know are knocking around your head .

I hear you, Ger. I absolutely love my Countryman too, and even don't mind that it is diesel anymore!

The JCW is definitely gone. It was a great car to drive. But you hit the nail on the head, I bought the Countryman for a reason. Given our back issues, it is just so easy to get in and out of, so that is a big consideration.
